Assisted with negotiations for an innovative outsourcing contract for surgical instrument processing and sterilization. Diagnostic assessment of Surgical Department scheduling systems, facilities utilization, delays and patient care processes aimed at optimal utilization of current and future facilities. Planning assistance for Surgical Department and Central Sterile Processing replacement facilities. 359 Bed Community Hospital with 9 Operating Rooms - Surgical Services Space Utilization Assessment Developed near term and long term improvement plans for materials management and instrument processing. Developed a coordinated surgical supply storage plan for the central warehouse and Surgical Department. Diagnostic assessment of surgical facilities utilization. 386 Bed Community Hospital With 11 Operating Rooms - Performed a Surgical Suite Inventory Management Study. Developed a plan to reduce surgical suite inventories and improve controls over stock levels, ordering systems, staffing and information systems. Implemented recommendations in ccordination with hospital staff. 411 Bed Community Hospital with 26 Operating Rooms - Developed a functional and space program for replacement surgical facilities which will be located on two floors of a new structure. Facilitated the development of new materials management and patient care systems concepts as a basis for program development. Collaborated with architects in translating the functional and space program into architectural schematic and design-development drawings. 61 Bed Community Hospital With 3 Operating Rooms - Developed improved case scheduling systems for more effective facilities and staff utilization. Developed improved instrument processing methods aimed at improved sterility control and reduced case turnaround times. Developed improved ambulatory care systems resulting in improved staff availability, as well as improved bed utilization. Developed space program and pre-schematic layouts for renovation of ambultory care facilities. Assisted staff with implementation of recommendations.
